Jaycee Duggard's 'A STOLEN LIFE' Tops Best Sellers List

A STOLEN LIFE is the story of a girl Jaycee Duggard now 31, who was kidnapped at the age of 11 and then kept captive in isolation for the next 18 years. The memoir published is a moving story and tears will roll down many cheeks who go through this book.

Jaycee Duggard was kidnapped while she walked to a school bus stop near her home in South Lake Tahoe in 1991, by a sexually pervert couple Philip Garrido and his wife. For the next 18 years she was kept in isolation in the backyard of Garrido's house in tents and sheds.

In her memoir she recounts how she was subjected to sexual assault by Garrido and his wife. She was tortured and Philip Garrido would tie her to fulfill his sexual fantasies. She says that with the passage of time she became used to the pain.

Jaycee Duggard also gave birth to two daughters now aged 13 and 16, fathered by Garrido, during the captivity.

The most moving sentences in the memoir are when she describes the birth of her first daughter at the age of 14. She says " She came out and then I saw her. She was beautiful. I felt like I wasn't alone anymore. I had somebody who was mine," .

Philip Garrido has now been sentenced to 431 years in prison and his wife got 36 years sentence.

According to the Amazon.com the book is at the top of best sellers list on the very first day of its release.
