Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh

Yemeni state television channel announced today that President Ali Abdullah Saleh had met with John Brennan that White house counter terrorism chief.

The meeting took place in Riyadh where the Yemeni President is being treated since the attack on his compound. Since the assassination attempt on June 3rd, Yemen has been battling alleged al-Qaeda fighters in the south province of Abyan, raising US concerns over the advances of the group in the region.

Since the beginning of the uprising against the Regime, Saleh has been warning against the terrorist threat, saying that his departure would signal more attacks.
