Just as about I was getting out of the shock of the Kalka mail tragedy which I reported to the all voices.com I am laden with the news which I am uploading with heavy heart, coaches of the Guwahati-Puri Express derailed at Nalbari district in western Assam Sunday, 10th July 2011. Railways officials feared there could be serious casualties.
The accident occurred near Ghograpara at around 8.30 p.m. as the train was on its way to Puri, Odisha, India.
Police, state and railway teams were rushed to the spot, according to the Railway ministry and the Government of Odisha.
Police and railway officials say they are not sure whether the derailment was caused by a blast or sabotage by militants or a technical fault.
Villagers, of the surrounding areas however claim to have heard a loud explosion before the accident.
