Sarah, 'you da man'

Sarah Palin enjoys shooting animals to death.

And not just deer and elk and caribou. No, she likes shooting the big, charismatic, ecologically-critical animals like grizzly bears. And wolves.

What is she trying to prove?

That she is more manly than the next trophy hunter? Does she like being able to stroke her own ego by killing something big and/or supposedly dangerous so she can claim she plays with the 'big boys'?

Does she need to have that stuffed, glass-eyed, plaster-filled hide to show off her bravery and skill (or just show off?) Or does she just like to put notches on her bedpost, so to speak, by keeping count of all the hapless wild creatures she has blown away from the comfort of helicopters and with the benefit of long-range scopes?

Women, usually, are the nurturers, the caregivers, the family-oriented sex. In this case, though, she is less feminine and nurturing than any wolf mother raising her pups in the close-knit family that constitutes a wolf pack.

Wolves are shy and try to avoid humans whenever possible. They also treat members of their own families better than many humans treat their own families.

Yet people like Sarah Palin go out of their way to track down and slaughter wolves.

It seems a shame that a woman would get pleasure from destroying families, including puppies, satiating a blood-lust normally associated with 'good ol boys'.

I would have more respect for Palin if she would engage the wolves or grizzlies in hand-to-hand combat. Alas, there is no way Mrs. Palin would ever put herself in danger.

In all honesty, when Sarah Palin first burst on to the political scene, I thought she was a breath of fresh air. She was good looking, from a good family and seemed to have good old fashioned American values.

Then I learned too much about her.

Since she is on the docket for the 2012 election, readers might want to take a look at some of this disturbing evidence of her blatant disregard for wildlife and the land:

Plus, her hubby worked for BP and now owns a commercial fishing business.

Enough environmental exploitation, already.

I, for one, will not be voting for her.

*Thank you to Birdpond for pointing me to these references, and more. Just goes to show that, given new evidence, we can change long-held beliefs.

Oh man o man what a brilliant guy you are,who says conservatives only go withthe flow like dead fish to quote Sarah barracuda Palin.

You are absolutely right on. I love this post, love the women are usually nurterers. I also loved "In all honesty, when Sarah Palin first burst on to the political scene, I thought she was a breath of fresh air. She was good looking, from a good family and seemed to have good old fashioned American values."

This only goes to show that those qualities are not enough to be a leader and objectivity as you have displayed int his article are fundamental in choosing a leader. repulicans liberals etc can have the same values but must choose a leader wisely.

This woman is a dunce, arrogant, bigotted and an opportunist who has made her millions on the back of unsuspecting supporters. I canot understand how Micheal Vick spent so much time in jail and sarah wanna be president did not get a day in jail for all her brutality to animals.

Life is really not fair.

Rated way way way up. Well done!

I'm humbled, mrspleats.

I call 'em like I see 'em. I really hope that you and I stay in touch here. Maybe if we're lucky, other Conservatives will start to take another look at certain things, too.

Thank you again.

I do vote Republican, Michelle, but at this point in my life I have a real hard time finding anybody to vote for. Sometimes it's better to vote for the candidate rather than 'the Party'.

Also - a big 'thank you' for your comment. I have a feeling that if we keep corresponding or ever actually meet, we'd find we have a lot more in common than not.

I usually vote republican too, but recently I've opened my mind and decided to vote for the best person for the job which I agree is hard to find!
