Sudan Referendum: Turning Point - Democracy NOW!

On the eve of the independence of Southern Sudan, the government of North Sudan officially recognized the new state.

The exact location of the boundary of the south is still under discussion.

Meanwhile, preparations continue in the southern capital, Juba, for the creation of the new state at midnight local time (21.00 GMT).

The U.S. government believed that the current peacekeeping mission deployed in Sudan United Nations should remain even after passing the south on Saturday to become an independent state.
