6 Members of a single family dead of Landslide

4 July 2011,Thumki-7,Kaski It was six in the morning and all children of the family were asleep. Women were busy with their morning household works. The head of the family 7o years old Chandra Bahadur Pariyar was awake and was rescued alive after the disastrous landslide which took away his 6 family members; two wives Narmaya( 65), Dhanamaya(60), daughter in law Dhanu(35), and grandchildren Mamta(12), Shati(9), Sajan(8).

There was a newly constructed road about 100m above their house and torrential rainfall lead to the landslide to occur and wash away the house 50 m below the original position. The blocked in the road due to landslide to reach the event place delayed the rescue operation. Nepal Police and Red Cross kaski had reached the place lately and gleaned the bodies from the demolished house. Chandra Bahadaur is staying in the neighbor after rescue. Man Bahadur, son of Chandra Bahadur was not in the house and able to survive.
