Former Police Station

A eunuch who was allegedly deprived of Rs80,000 during his train journey staged a novel protest against police for ‘not entertaining’ his complaint by dancing at the gate of the city police station.

Talking to journalists in front of the police station, Chanda said he was travelling from Rawalpindi to Khanewal by train and when he reached his destination he found the amount missing from his luggage.

Instead of immediately reporting to the matter to railway police, he opted to contact the nearby city police station where the staff on duty asked him to come back on Saturday morning.

He said after the city police asked him to return on Saturday, he had to spend the night in a playground located opposite the police station as he had no money left on him.

He claimed while he was asleep somebody again stole away some silver and gold jewellery items, along with some clothes, from his luggage.

Chanda said when he approached the police again on Saturday, they refused to file an FIR.

In protest against the police, Chanda placed his remaining belongings outside the gate of the police station and started dancing. When he got tired, he converted his dance protest into a sit-in.

Sources said the protesting eunuch later went missing.

City police station SHO Chaudhry Zakaullah expressed his ignorance about the incident, saying that the FIR of the first incident should have been lodged with railway police station.
