Novak Djokovic

The biggest story of the day if the Wimbledon Mens Final match between the hottest two players on Earth. Novak Djokovic won his first Wimbledon title in 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 in Sunday’s final and extended his dominance over Rafael Nadal this season with 5-0 head-to-head victory.

It seems all the stars in heaven are lining up the Serbian, first the winning his first Grand Slam at Wimbledon, second his move up to No. 1 in ATP rankings and lastly his incredible season record of 48-1 winning freak.

Nadal clearly was outplayed in the match said, “Seriously, I lose because I am playing against the best player of the moment, the best player of the world tomorrow, and I am the second,” Nadal said. “And when you play against these players and they are playing unbelievable, the normal thing is to lose.”

In another event, Iveta Benesova of the Czech Republic and Jurgen Melzer of Austria won the Wimbledon mixed doubles title Sunday by beating Elena Vesnina of Russia and Mahesh Bhupathi of India 6-3, 6-2 on Centre Court.

The Australian teens dominates the single events, after 17-year-old Luke Saville's victory over Britain's Liam Broady yesterday, 15-year-old Ashleigh Barty triumphed in two tight sets against Russian Irina Khromacheva on No.1 Court, 7-5 7-6 (7/3).

Left-hander Khromacheva was being coached by former Wimbledon runner-up Justine Henin and made a bright start, building up an early 4-1 lead but falters in the closing minutes.
