Republican, Michele Bachmann, officially jumped into the presidential race Monday on the steps of the Snowden House in Waterloo, Iowa. Sunday night, she was in a tie with Mitt Romney in the Des Moines Register’s Iowa Poll.
In Waterloo, Bachmann asked the public to “make a bold choice” when they are deciding among the Republican candidates. She’s ready to run to the White House ahead of President Obama, according to The New York Times.
Mrs. Bachmann who is 55-years old said, “I seek the presidency not for vanity but because America is at a crucial moment.”
Bachmann describes the Iowa Straw Poll to be held on August 13 as “a big deal.”
“These Iowa roots and my faith in God is what compelled me today. We cannot afford four more years of President Obama.”
Tuesday, Sarah Palin is planning her arrival in Iowa to attend her premiere of, “The Undefeated,” a documentary about her life story.
Generally, most people consider the run for president of the United States to be a boring (yawn) affair.
I’m not thinking that will be the case this time, though.
Stay tuned for “As the USA Turns.”
