Iraq: 25 killed in the explosion of two car bombs

At least 25 people were killed and over 30 injured in the explosion Tuesday in two car bombs in Diwaniyah in central Iraq, said an official of the Ministry of Defence.

"Both cars exploded almost simultaneously near the governor's house in Diwaniya, killing 25 people and wounding 30 more," said the official told AFP.

It was not immediately clear if the governor, Salam Hussein Alwan, was among the victims.
