Sri Lanka has freed 858 convicts to mark the most important day in the Buddhist calendar, a prison official has said

Pakistans Ambessador to Sri Lanka,honouable Seema Baloch, handed over on Thursday to Buddhist monks some relices from Pakistan, to be exhibited in Sri Lanka, as part of the 2600th; Anniversary of Buddha,s enlightment. The relices were handed over to monks of the Bodhingyana Asapuwa Temple in Kaduwela, in the presence of Director General of Archaeology of Pakistan,In Buddhist lore,Pakistan is known as Gandhara Deshaya.
