Christian BaleChristian Bale was released from police custody last night after being held for over 4 hours no charges of assault filed by none other than his mother, Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40. The two went into the police station to file a complaint after Bale allegedly erupted at them on Sunday night.

Police chose not to interfere with the premiere screening the Bale's blockbuster smash "The Dark Knight," in which Bale reprises the role of Batman, a crime-fighting vigilante both loved and hated by the city he protects. The film had it's first Europe screening in London's West End, which Bale was allowed to attend before being taken into custody.

The actor was released on bail, pending further inquiry.
