The United States has the best navy in the world. This is mostly due to their great ships. But after wars and conflicts, a lot of these ships are decommissioned and await disposal.

That is what you will find in Suisun Bay just 30 miles northeast of San Francisco. There, you will find what is called the Mothball Fleet. It is a ship graveyard of about a hundred ships that have served the country in four wars.

One of these ships is the USS Iowa which was WWII’s last lead battleship. Check out these amazing and eerie images from the Mothball Fleet. And see for yourself the ships before they are disposed.
