In recent times, there have been a growing demand for metal on the international market. Middle men in Antigua and Barbuda who've secured metal markets in Japan, have began buying by some they employ to do collect strap metals, or others walk-ins. Unfortunately, many residents are suffering from the thief of old vehicles, and other metal objects on their properties, most of all many artifacts left bind from slavery such as, forts and water tanks have been removed.

The metals are collected at a few junk yards before they are packed in containers and shipped.
