On Friday, June 17th from 4-11pm, around the Old Lake County Courthouse Lawn and Square, the Hometown Festival Days will kick-off with the 24th Annual Corn Roast, which will feature great food, a beer garden, games for the kids, and of course delicious roasted corn courtesy of the Southlake Shriners. Entertainment will be sponsored by and Pals with a DJ early in the evening and then the Retropolitans will take over the stage.
On Saturday and Sunday, June 18th and 19th from 9am-5pm, around the Old Lake County Courthouse Lawn and Square, the 37th Annual Arts and Crafts Festival will be a crafter’s paradise. Come out and shop till you drop! There will be plenty of delicious food available when you are ready to take a break and need some refreshment.
On Monday, June 20th at 11am, the much beloved Dollie Parade will take place around the sidewalk outside the Old Lake County Courthouse. Children are invited to bring their best-dressed dolls and join the fun! This event is free of charge and ribbons, candy and balloons will be given out to all of the children who participate. The parade will begin on the east side of the Old Lake County Courthouse.
On Friday, June 24th and Saturday, June 25th from 11am -10pm, The Taste of the Region will fill the Old Lake County Courthouse Lawn and Square. Main Street, between Joliet and Clark Streets will be closed for the two day event for the first time ever! Some of our area’s best restaurants and food vendors will be on hand with a vast assortment of delicious food that is sure to please all! Friday evening, two bands will take the stage, Sucker Punch andHops and on Saturday evening, come out and enjoy Slippery Hank and Just 4 Kixx.
Also taking place on Friday, June 24th at 6pm is the Annual Marriage Mill on the Old Lake County Courthouse east steps. Love will fill the air as couples join together to renew their marriage vows.
Home Town Festival Days will wrap up on Monday, June 27th with the Gospel Concert at 6pm, on the Old Lake County Courthouse Lawn. Come out and enjoy the best in local gospel music and don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs!
