In a shocking and heartbreaking incident Pakistani rangers in the area of Clifton Boat Basin, Karachi shot and killed an innocent young man and claimed that it was an encounter until a live video of the whole incident surfaced on the internet and other media.
The incident was recorded by several people on their cell phone camera and the video clearly shows that the poor man was unarmed and was begging for his life but of no avail. Pakistani rangers shot him twice in both his legs and left the young man, Sarfraz Shah to bleed to death who kept on pleading for his life and to take him to the hospital.
Before the videos made it way on the media and the internet, officials were claiming that Sarfraz was a robber and had robbed a man Afsar Khan of his belongings from the Park and Khan had a FIR registered against him. So they had caught him armed with a gun and had to shoot him in an encounter. However, when the footage was aired it was obvious that the rangers had shot poor Sarfraz in cold blood from point blank distance.
In the video Sarfraz Shah can be clearly heard claiming his innocence and saying that he was a man in need. However, there was nothing harmful in his hands.
After the whole incident the relatives and other people took the dead body of Shah to the Chief Minister house and protested outside. They claim that they wanted immediate justice. However, Pakistani authorities are reluctant that Shah was shot in an encounter so justice is already served from their side.
