BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia meets party’s standing committee members, allies

Leader of the Opposition and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Wednesday night had a meeting with the members of standing committee members, party's highest decision making body, and its allies.

In the meeting, held at Khaleda Zia's Gulshan residence, current political situation, government's move to abolish caretaker government system, decision about their participation in the Election Commission's dialogue on introducing Electronic Voting system, next course of their agitational programmes after the declaration of national budget were discussed.

BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Dr RA Gani, MK Anwar, Let Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, Nazrul Islam Khan, and Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, among others, were present in the meeting.

Jamaat-e-Islami was represented by acting Ameer Mokbul Ahmad, acting Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam, Assistant Secretary General Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and Dhaka Metropolitan Jamaat Ameer Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan while Bangladesh Jatiya Party chairman Andalib Rahman Partho attended the meeting as the representative of his party.
