Today, Congressman Pete Visclosky joined Portage Mayor Olga Velazquez at a ribbon cutting for an expanded Porter-Starke Services facility in Portage, Indiana.
Visclosky said: “I strongly believe that we all deserve an opportunity to live the most fulfilling, productive life we can. Northwest Indiana is fortunate to have an organization dedicated to helping our residents do just that. I’d like to thank the leadership and staff of Porter-Starke Services for your continued commitment and dedication to the people and communities of Northwest Indiana.”
Porter-Starke Services has provided behavioral healthcare services to patients in Porter and Starke Counties since 1975. Today’s event marked the completion of a facility expansion in Portage that now includes additional group and individual counseling space and a community room large enough for trainings, education, and presentations.
Porter-Starke Services, in conjunction with the Portage Chamber of Commerce, hosted today’s event.
Visclosky secured $550,000 in federal resources in fiscal year 2010 for the expansion.
