According to the World Health Organization headaches have enormous costs to society. Those who suffer from headaches are widespread throughout the nation. It has been noted that 47% of all adults have some type of headache disorder.

Besides conventional treatments for headache disorders which generally prescribe medications with numerous side effects. There are several alternative therapies in which have been used for the treatment of headache disorders. Here are just a few:

Chiropractic

Doctors of chiropractic are exceptionally trained in the diagnosis and treatment of numerous headache disorders. A lot of headache causes are soft tissue based and can be successfully managed with chiropractic treatments.

There have been numerous studies on the efficiency of chiropractic treatments and headache disorders.

Chiropractic has also been noted in the area of children and headaches. In the Journal of Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics in 1996, reported in a case series of five children having various kinds of headaches receiving chiropractic care. Each child had spinal subluxations. After the subluxations were decreased by chiropractic adjustments, children’s complaints were no longer present. Additional therapies were not given until headaches were gone. The theory was that the headaches removal could have been due to restoring the nervous system functioning by chiropractic adjustments. At current date more and more parents are using chiropractic care as part of their children’s overall wellness care.

Champissage Massage

Champissage massage also known as Indian Head Massage is very popular in the United Kingdom and is having a growing interest in the United States today.

Indian massage is massage of the head which is combined with massage of shoulders and back. This massage can also be just the head and there are several techniques in which practitioners of this massage use. It is very un-invasive and you can have it done during your lunch hour.

Indian head massage is tied with the Hindu belief that energy surrounds the body. This massage form is extremely helpful it is based on the power of touch and the same muscle relaxing techniques of any massage. It releases pressure and tension in the head along with the temples.
