This past season “American Idol” lowered its minimum age limit to 15 years old; the new music reality show “The X Factor” allows for singers as young as 12, but…of the Jonas Brothers is planning a singing competition that will allow singers as young as eight to compete.
Jonas, a mere teen of 18 himself, has partnered with Quaker for the Quaker Chewy Superstar Contest. Beginning Wednesday June 8 singers eight to 14 can upload an audition at ChewySuperstar.com. Between June 8 and August 5 a panel of judges will determine the top singers before the job is turned over to America for voting.
The winning singer will have a song produced by Nick Jonas, win a contract with Jonas Group Management, get a music video online, and will a cash prize.
Jonas said that he wants to help other young singers to make their dreams come true.
