In Women Singles Tennis: Francesca Schiavone is the defending women’s champion. She is 30 years old, Italian, with unbelievable tenacity cum will-power displayed in her defense; aim winning this year’s title - 2011 Championships.

She has beaten 10th seeded, Elena Jankovic for the quarter finals with her stunning 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 victory. Francesca Schiavone will play against super Marion Bartoli who defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova from Russia: 7-6, 6-4.

Li Na from China and the first Chinese player to qualify for the Roland Garros quarter-finals will play against Victoria Azarenka. Maria Sharapova the most senior survivor who remains unbeaten is meeting Andrea Petkovic - no. 15 from Germany.

Later today: No. 1 Rafael Nadal is playing against Robin Soderling.

The second seed Novak Djokovic is set to meet Roger Federer and Andy Murray is set to challenge player Juan Ignacio Chela. The battle for the 2011 French Open Championships continues ‘til next report.
