One-time romantic comedy queenhas plans to tie the knot with in July.
The couple, who started dating earlier this year, recently revealed their plans of getting married to their family members. Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp are all set to walk down the aisle, even though the rocker is still married.
Mellencamp, who will exchange the vows for the fourth time in July, is not yet divorced from his third wife. Though John did file for divorce from supermodel wife Elaine Irwin back in January 2011, it is not finalized yet.
However, the impending divorce is not apparently playing any hindrances in their plans of marriage, as they are already working on their guest list.
59-year-old John Mellencamp split from his wife of 18 years in December 2010. Shortly after his split, he was spotted dating with 49-year-old Meg Ryan. Back in February, Meg Ryan made headlines when she was snapped with a large ring on her finger, sparking media speculations about their engagement.
The couple is said to be very much in love.
It has been reported that John's decision to remarry so soon has shocked his family.
According to a source, John's children were shocked because of his decision. The source added, "They don't think their dad should be getting married so quickly. But he's telling them that Meg is the woman he always wanted and that's that."
When the link-up reports of Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp surfaced over the media, Ryan was thrilled about the fact that her new relationship has brought her back in the spotlight. A friend close to Meg Ryan stated, "Meg couldn't be happier. Not only has she got a great new guy, she's back in the headlines."
The source added that becoming an anonymous New Yorker from being one of the highest paid actresses in the world was not easy for Meg Ryan; she is loving all this attention again.
Along with a new husband in her life, Meg Ryan has a new movie in her bag. It has been reported that Meg Ryan is very close to signing on for the starring role in indie drama "Long Time Gone", the directorial debut of Sarah-Siegel-Magness, the producer of "Precious".
In the new flick, Meg Ryan would play the mother of a broken family that is healed when the girlfriend of the youngest son moves in. The production of "Long Time Gone" is set to start this fall.
The "You've Got Mail" actress was previously married toand they have an 18-year-old son, Jack Henry, together.
