After Windows 7 install , I found out that though all drivers have been installed but there is no sound.
The error was no speakers attached. Earlier with Windows Xp the sound was working fine with internal / built-in speakers.
I attached external speakers and they were working fine. After a bit of research on the net, I found that if I install windows Vista drivers my sound card work. I downloaded the Vista drivers from the vendor site, tried to install “Automatically” but Windows 7 was sure that I had updated drivers and the downloaded drivers can not be installed.
Then I choose ‘Let me choose the drivers to install’ ie from Device Manager > Sound > Right Click on Current Device> Update driver. After that I browse to location of Vista drivers, after the install I heard the ding first time from the Windows 7. Wao! Great sound has started working.
Somehow, during the research process I found out that the general opinion is Windows 7 itself install 64 bit drivers though you have 32 bit Operating System. So you have to get 32 bit drivers from Vendor and manually install them to overcome this issue.
I havn’t check out Microphone function as yet, but I bieleve as the driver has been installed , it shall be working too.
