A 16-year-old became the youngest person to climb every one of the highest mountains on each continent.
George Atkinson, of Surbiton, outside London, completed the ascent of Everest, Nepal, on the morning of Thursday.
"George did. He reached the top at around 8:15 a.m. in the morning hours of Nepal (around 23.15 on Wednesday GMT). It seems that the weather was fine, " her mother posted in the blog of the young adventurer.

George began the challenge of the seven peaks at age 11 in 2005, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
In 2007 he climbed Mt Elbrus in Russia, and the following year, Aconcagua in Argentina, and Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia.
Then came Mount McKinley, North America and last year, Mount Vinson in Antarctica.
The British Mountaineering Council confirmed the record. With only three days of his 17th birthday, beat American Johnny George Collinson, who was that age when he completed the challenge last year.
