Various environmental programs to help solve sanitation problems in the country’s international gateway have been initiated by the government and many organizations.
With the continuous pursuit to help the restoration and preservation of the Manila Bay, Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) will hold its first-ever Manila Bay Clean-Up Fun Run on July 17, 2011.
The fun run aims to focus a sustainable approach to cleaning and protecting marine and coastal resources in the area, that will help minimize pollutants.
The event is open to all interested participants and will feature races in the 3K, 5K, 10K, and 21K divisions for both men and women.
A cash prize of P20,000 goes to the first-place finisher in the 21K run; P10,000 for the top runner in 10K; P5,000 to the winner of the 5K run; and P3,000 for the 3K winner.
Registration desks are set up at Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex, Pasay City, and at Global City in Taguig. Deadline for registration is on June 19, 2011.
MBC have joined other organizations based along Roxas Boulevard for Land Bank’s Manila Bay Clean-Up Program in 2009. Land Bank’s program features a garbage boat that moves daily to gather debris along the bay area.
