Islamabad: Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has been removed from the post of Pakistan One Day International cpatain for the upcoming matches against Ireland.
Shahid Afridi has been replaced by Test captain Misbah -ul Haq.
Afridi led Pakistan to the semifinals of the World Cup and his team also clinched the five-match ODI series against West Indies 3-2 earlier this month.
The PCB does not want Pakistan Cricket to come top in ranking, the person who brought the team together as one unit they took is captaincy this is a punishment for bringing the player together.
Bhatt however did not state any reason for the replacement although it is speculated that the step was taken for Afridi's recent criticism of the Pakistani team management after the
One Day series against West Indies.
The rest of the team was in the West Indies, where they play the second and final Test at St. Kitts starting today.
Circus continues, Even though I was a huge fan of Afridi's leadership skills in the beginning, like in domestic circuits but when he captained Pakistan, he made some real blunders, his captaincy is like his batting, it doesn't make sense and have no dimensions, he is good with the team, can unite them and stuff but at the same time, he can make stupid decisions to hurt the game, having said that, Misbah is not a good choice either, he should not be in the team but hey PCB never stops surprising, it’s like Mr. Butt wakes up every morning and asks himself "how could i outdo myself today".
Afridi is a good player, a utility player but that bout it if we are being realistic and one thing that i absolutely hate bout him, he never misses out on an opportunity to make himself look better by selling someone out, it’s his habit, he just can’t help himself. He’s done that numerous times to promote the brand "Afridi". Still a must for ODIs and T20s though.
