After a performance by Bjork in China, in which the artist articulated her support for a free Tibet, the Chinese government has announced that it will no longer permit such agendas to enter the country. According to the Ministry of Culture, "Any artistic group or individual who have ever engaged in activities which threaten our national sovereignty will not be allowed in." The statement can be viewed in Chinese on the Ministry's website.
From this point forward, the government will be screening any and all performances to take place within the country, including encore routines.
Bjork says she stands by her "outburst," and speaks on behalf of humanity.
