Raising Pacquiao: A conversation with Jackie Mondajar Part 1

Pound for pound Boxing Champion and Congressman Manny Pacquiao said that he does not support the civil disobedience through non paying of taxes. He added that if people will not pay taxes its a pity for the government.

Pro life groups have threatened the government that they will not be paying taxes if the RH Bill will be passed.

Pacquiao further clarified that his opposition to the RH bill doesn't mean that he is againt President Benigno Aquino as well as the government.

Senate president Juan Ponce Enrile also said that RH bill has become very fast and divisive issue and hopes that both sides should be circumspect in dealing with the issues. The Catholic Church have been very vocal about their opposition about the RH bill and its the first time that Enrile saw them like that.

“My solution to the problem of the country is not population restriction but to improve the investment climate in the country. Increase the pie and then impose a heavier tax on the rich people so that they can get money for the government to spend so that it can create jobs and return back and create an income for the poor people,” the senator said.

Partido ng Manggagawa Secretary General Judy Miranda said in a statement “We are not asking for a share of million dollars, which he earned in boxing or in his commercials. What we are asking him is to support RH Bill.”
