The house of a parliament member in Bangladesh has been attacked by ruling party activists.
The independent parliament member, Fazlul Azim, alleged that a group of ruling party supporters attacked his house at Hatia in Noakhali district around 11:30 am today (Monday).
Section 144 barring rallies and gatherings was imposed in the area due to a previous clash between two factions of the ruling party League.
"Supporters of one local Awami League leaderalong with the cadres of pirate Munsia attacked my house that left at least my 10 supporters injured. I immediately informed police," the MP told newsmen.
Earlier, on Sunday, supporters of former AL MPs Mohammad Ali and Waliullah fought a series of clashes, which left at least 15 people including the municipal mayor injured and prompted local authorities to declare section 144 in Hatia area of the district.
