Bhubaneswar,15/5- A rubber tube was taken out from the lungs of a person by operating him after 33 long years. It is reported that the foreign body was left in the lungs due to carelessness of doctors. Bipin Patra(38), a resident of Kendrapara district, Bijaynagar, Kanpur, was affected with pneumonia when he was 5 years of age. He was admitted at SCB Medical, Cuttack where doctors diagnosed the accumulation of pus in his lungs. He had undergone chest drain for teh same. After he was declared fit, some part of it was left in the lungs that resulted in a fistula at the affected spot leading to emnation of pus and blood. He failed to recover after many attempts and was admitted at KIMS. Distincted surgeon, Dr. Madhabananda Dar concluded the presence of the rubber and carried out the surgery with his team of specialist. The operation that was performed on May 12, lasted for long hours.
