The Victoria-based circus act will start their new tour in Melbourne on June 22nd.
(TRAVPR.COM) UK - May 13th, 2011 - Circus Oz are set to kick off their latest Australian tour by bringing their new show - Steampowered - to Melbourne for a month-long run.
The steam-punk spectacular will see the ensemble present their unique brand of madness to audiences in the Victoria capital from June 22nd to July 17th 2011.
After forming in Melbourne back in 1978, Circus Oz have gone on to wow crowds in 26 countries across five continents, earning widespread critical acclaim in the process.
The founding members loved the skills and tricks that can be seen in traditional circus performances, but were keen to inject elements of rock'n'roll, satire and popular theatre to help their shows appeal to a contemporary audience.
These ideals have helped to create the family-friendly, animal-free Circus Oz that exists today.
Describing the show on its official website, the company said: "Expect two hours of breathtaking agility, death-defying stunts, awe-inspiring acrobatic performances, irreverent comedy and a spectacular live band."
Tickets cost from AU$48 to AU$82 depending on the seat, but fans should act fast as some nights have already sold out.
