Benny Joe Stevens who was convicted of murdering four people was put to death by a lethal injection. He was convicted in 1998. He was pronounced dead at 6:22 p.m. local time at the Mississippi State Penitentiary in Parchman, said state Department of Corrections spokeswoman Tara Booth.
Stevens who was sentenced to death in 1998 had murdered his ex-wife, her husband and two children. He was also sentenced to 20 years in prison for the aggravated assault on her daughter.
Had Stevens not been executed, he would have celebrated his 53rd birthday on Thursday.
His last meal gave a look of grand dinner as he ordered for four fried catfish, eight hushpuppies, French fries, coleslaw, hickory-smoked barbecue beef ribs, hot peach cobbler, a half-gallon of Blue Bell homemade vanilla ice cream, two 20-ounce Cokes, ketchup and a sliced red tomato.
Nobody knows whether he ate every thing which he ordered.
