According to breaking CNN news, some videos have emerged of Osama bin Laden on Saturday, that provides insights into his state of mind. But I can't help but wonder why the Pentagon chose to release these?

This is never-seen-before footage that intelligence officials are distributing. There are five unique videos of bin Laden confiscated from the raid by U.S. forces at his compound.

The new videos are just a few of the many, officials are revealing that were taken from the most wanted terrorists collection. They say this haul may be the largest amount ever collected from a terrorist of bin Laden’s caliber.

CNN reports, "The videos make clear that bin Laden remained active in al Qaeda terrorist propaganda operations, especially in shaping his own image," said a senior intelligence official granted anonymity under the ground rules of the briefing at the Pentagon.

The video the U.S. government took and released has no audio and they have been edited by them. The reason for removing the audio was the U.S. intelligence officials say it would be, "inappropriate to spread the words of terrorists and propaganda messages, especially Osama bin Laden."

Why do you think the U.S. officials released the videos? They could have kept them confidential, right?
