Veterans of the Great Patriotic War honored at the Russian Embassy

Veterans of the Great Patriotic War (1941-45) and the survivors of the Leningrad blockade were honored today at the Russian Embassy in Armenia. Russian Ambassador to Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko awarded them with medals and gifts.

Four veterans received tickets to Saint Petersburg, where they will participate in the celebrations dedicated to the 66th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

“We live today, because you have achieved success in your life. We rejoice, because you defended our common Motherland during the war.”

According to the Ambassador, the Great Victory tied the past and the present, and the the contribution of the veterans in invaluable here.
