PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA VISITED GROUND ZERO OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER

May 05, 2011 12–3:00 AM Manila Time – Watching over television President Barack Obama’s visit to the historic Ground Zero of the World Trade Center, one could not simply ignore to be personally involved in the emotional character and spirit that pervaded throughout the occasion. From the time President Barack Obama walked from his limousine to pick up the wreath and laid it to its holder at the site, there was a resounding silence. No speech delivered and was so, private despite of its being a government initiated celebration. It was so touching being viewed from a very distant vantage point.

Apparently, President Obama took time to visit the world famed site in order to celebrate the victory and gains on the hunt of the very man who was believed to have masterminded the 9/11 orchestrated attacks on the US mainland about ten (10) long years ago. The site as Shephard Smith said, “is the symbol of American National Unity”. The American people were one in rescuing every living and dead victims of that tragedy and still remain one people in celebrating the victory of conquering to death Osama bin Laden, the perpetrator of such crime against the American people and humanity.

More touching and involving moments were the personal and human touches of Mr. Obama not only as a president of the Americans but, like any mortal American who walked as anybody on that firm ground and shook hands with each of the police officers who stood firmly, embraced and kissed those who needed his consoling presence. Mr. Obama make himself being felt by the Americans present on the ground representative of the whole American nation.

The sample of 50 family members of victims who had an audience with President Obama is a demonstration that, the American way of life remains and continues after 9/11 and so much so that, Osama bin Laden is now a fading personality after his much wanted death for which they celebrated at Ground Zero today.

The event and its news coverage worldwide is characteristic of a great nation and people who are already acknowledged as “Great”. The world cannot ignore to admire the United States of America.
