Hollywood Stars in Innisfil: Lefroy Harbour a Movie Set

Lefroy Harbour, Innisfil. The quaint and normally quiet little marina and docks in Lefroy have been taken over by movie trailers and camera crews this week as shooting begins for a made-for-TV movie for the Country Music Network.

Country music superstar Leann Rimes was spotted filming scenes at the sleepy harbour resort this week, and rumour has it she will be joined by Hollywood leading-man Burt Reynolds next week.

The local marina, fishing docks and a bait shop will be some of the settings for the film, which is actually set in a small Alabama fishing town. The movie is slated to air on the Country Music Network next year.

Hey Michelle..we just had Liam Neeson up here in Smithers for his "Wolf" film. I'm happy Innisfil is becoming a background. I grew up watching Oliver Reed & Rita Tushingham film "The Trap" on Bowen Island and Warren Beatty and Julie Christie film "McCabe & Mrs Miller" nearby too! (on Hollyburn Mountain above West Vancouver). This was all in the late 60's. Since then (as you well know) Vancouver became the home of 21 Jump Street, McGyver, Wiseguy and the X-files..besides many other films. It brings good money to communities..employs many..and allows a few thespians like ourselves to have a shot at "stardom"? Although I've had a few bit parts in my past..the brass ring always escaped me! :-)
