A job and livelihood fair will be held at the Rizal Park in commemoration of the Philippine Labor Day on May 1. The fair offers Filipinos not only the opportunity to find productive jobs but as well as income-earning enterprises to promote productivity and the country’s economic growth.
Around 150 local employers have confirmed their participation during the fair. Some 30,000 job vacancies will be provided. It is the first time to bring the job fair at Rizal Park to accommodate thousands of jobseekers.
To increase the chances of jobseekers to land a job at the fairs, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis Baldoz said “the best way is for jobseekers to take effort to hone up, upgrade, or retool on the proper skills that would give them the qualifications to match the demand of industries.”
DOLE has encouraged jobseekers to visit the job fair. A pre-registration to facilitate application and job matching is open by logging on http://phil-job.net/
Simultaneous job and livelihood fairs will also be held in other 16 regions of the country on May 1.
