Minister: ‘The insecurity acts in Puntland are behind by al-shabab’

GAROWE – Yusuf Ahmed Kheyr, the defense affairs minister of Puntland administration has said on Tuesday that the insecurity activities in the region were behind by al-shabab militias, just days after unidentified gunmen assassinated several people including the officials of Puntland administration.

More than 5 people were killed and many others wounded after gunmen attacked mosques in north Galka’o town which is under the control of Puntland in the past weeks.

The minister held press conference in Garowe, the centre of Puntland administration and discussed more about the security of the region indicating that insecurity situation happened in Puntland were masterminded by al-shabab militias who are fighting against the transitional government of Somalia, AMISOM and Ahlu Waljama’a clerics.

More people including military officers and authorities of Puntlnd had been killed in different neighborhoods in the towns under the control of Puntland

Mr. Yusuf that the security forces of Puntland had captured more suspected people during security assuring operations conducted in more cities in the region adding that they were al-shabab members.

He lastly called fore the people in the region to work with the different parts of the security agencies of Puntland administration to protect the culprits
