Madhu Sapre and Milind Soman are two of the top models of India in the 90s. They were shortly engaged to each other. Milind Soman is of Scottish-Indian descent. He was born in Scotland and lived in England for seven years. His family then came to India.

Milind and Madhu created controversy by doing a print ad for Tuff shoes. They shot naked wearing shoes and a python wrapped around their bodies. The social service branch of Mumbai police filed a case against the couple in August 1995. Then another case was filed against the advertising agency under the Wildlife Protection Act. The case continued for fourteen years.

Initially, Milind Soman wanted to have a career in sports. He won national swimming competition in 1984 and remained champion for four years in a row. He then decided to change track and initially modeling was not in his mind for it was not considered as a profession back then.

Milind Soman's first major work as a model was for Thackersey fabrics but he got his big break after doing a music video in Alisha Chinai's song "Made in India."

Soman also tried his hands in movies but he was not very successful. His major movies include 16 December, Pachaikili Muthucharam, Paiyya,Agni Varsha, Asoka, Bhram, Say Salaam India and Bheja Fry.
