will literally have to dig himself out of this one.
The internet is abuzz with reports that Egypt’s Minister of Antiquities, Zahi Hawass, has faked the exploration of a shaft in the Great Pyramid, while live on television!
The incident supposedly took place on September 17, 2002, where The Robot Explorer from the University of Leeds in the U.K. was deployed to reach the end of the shaft in the Great Pyramid and bore a hole to reveal what was on the other side of the wall.
A comparison of the shaft prior to the drilling shows a shaft chamber with very rough, textured walls and two elongated metal handles at the end of the shaft. As the drilling was about to take place the chamber appears different, with far smoother walls and stubbier metal handles at the end of the shaft!
The theory is that Zahi Hawass faked the exploration to hide what was behind the actual shaft explored, which the people of Egypt and the rest of the world will never know unless somehow effectively pursued. Even then, there is no proof that the contents of the original shaft are fully if at all disclosed!
So far no mention has been made in the mainstream media about this deception and Zahi Hawass has not responded on his blog as of yet. It should be quite interesting what transpires when this reaches critical mass…
