Nine People Crucified in the Philippines, Hundreds Flagelated.

They call it an act of Penance, A testament of faith. 9 people was nailed on the cross in three different towns of Pampanga in the Northern Philippines today. This spectacle was done every year in celebration of the Lenten season. The crucifixion is how they ask for penance for their sins.

People lined the streets without shirts and flagelating themselves. their back bleeding from self infflicted whipping. this yearly celebration is beiing witnessed by tourist and locals alike.

Mikel Switzel, a tourist from poland said "I've never seen anything like this anywhere in the world." Cindy Kenny for the USA called it "Gruesome, but you have to admire their devotion to their faith".
