mukhtaran mai's case: supreme court's decision

Islamabad,21 April, on thursday, the supreme court rejected the appeals of Mukhtaran Mai against acquittal of her tormentors who raped her nine years back. Only one accused out of 14, named Abdul Khaliq, will remain in prison and rest are freed. The court rejected the appeal because of insufficient evidence regarding the case and also becasue of faulty police investigation. The supreme court, in its detailed judgement has ordered that all those who were arrested because of july2005 directives should be freed but ane accused named Abdul Khaliq should be released only after his sentence completion.
