Latest News:Gerard Smith, Bassist for TV on the Radio, Dies Mr. Smith, 36, died Wednesday morning from lung cancer, the team announced. Last month, the group said that Mr. Smith was diagnosed with cancer shortly after recording the bands new album, "Nine Types of Light"(Interscope), which was released last week. Mr. Smith, a member of TV on the radio since 2005, did not join the group for its current tour last week at Radio City Music Hall, Jaleel Bunton, longtime drummer, playing bass and keyboards, Jahphet Landis and sitting in on drums .
