Planes collide at New York airport

Two aircraft on the ground last night clashed with each other at John F. Kennedy Airport, the largest airport in New York.

An Airbus A380 of Air France, the world's largest passenger plane, touched while taxiing to the runway with its wing, the tail of another, smaller plane from Delta Connection. The latter unit was waiting for a signal of the traffic to continue taxiing.

The fire brigade was immediately to the scene to assist, but there was no fire. The approximately 500 passengers from both planes came up with a fright. Both aircraft were towed away for inspection, while the pilots were questioned about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
