TRAILER FROM STEVEN SPIELBERG PROJECT ABRAHAM LINCOLN

Lincoln, Steven Spielberg's long in-development biopic of the 16th President of the United States, has found its First Lady: Sally Field.

Originally cast in 2007 (when Liam Neeson was first attached to play the great bearded prez), Field has now once again been confirmed to be playing the role of Mary Todd Lincoln.

Here's the great bearded director with his thoughts on Field's casting: "I'm excited to be working with Sally for the first time. I've admired her films and she has always been my first choice to portray all the fragility and complexity that was Mary Todd Lincoln."

The biopic is based on the best-selling book Team of Rivals from Pulitzer-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, which has been adapted by another Pulitzer winner, Tony Kushner (MUNICH, "Angels in America"). It will "focus on the political collision of Lincoln and the powerful men of his cabinet on the road to abolition and the end of the Civil War."

LINCOLN - starring the great Daniel Day-Lewis in the title role - is expected to begin production this fall, with a release set for sometime in late 2012.
