Egyptian Public Prosecutor calls for Mubarak and his sons to investigate

Decided that the Egyptian Public Prosecutor Counsellor Abdel Meguid Mahmoud decided Sunday to call Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and his two sons, Alaa and Gamal for interrogation on charges of "contact with crimes of assault on the demonstrators and casualties" during the revolution of January 25 that led to the overthrow in February 11 last year.

He said ; the Attorney General in a statement issued after the audio recording of Mubarak, who has aired on Al-Arabiya said the investigation with Mubarak and his sons would also include "other incidents relating to the seizure of public funds, abuse of power and get the commissions and benefits of different deals," said the Egyptian television quoted Prosecutor-General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud The investigation with Mubarak and his sons would not be affected by the word aired by Al Arabiya television, the former president on Sunday, denying the possession of any assets in cash or real estate abroad.

At the same time a statement said on Sunday that the Egyptian public prosecutor ordered the former Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif, 15 days as part of investigations into the waste of public money.

The prosecutors investigating reports include corruption charges against former officials and businessmen linked to the former regime of President Hosni Mubarak in an attempt to meet the popular demand to speed up action against them.

Egyptian authorities are investigating with many of the symbols of the Mubarak regime in the inflation reports of their wealth illegally.
