Los Angeles - 10 April 2011
Pia Toscano, who was eliminated from American Idol on Thursday has reportedly been offered a recording deal with Interscope Records.
According to US magazine, Pia, 22, signed the deal with Interscope, which is run by Jimmy Iovine. Jimmy is also "American Idol" 10th season mentor to the finalists.
Sources say, Interscope is rushing to put an album together. Pia was approached by Interscope after the shocking results show. There have been no comments by representatives of Interscope.
I suppose Interscope is rushing to get the album out while Pia is still hot news. If things go well, Pia will follow in the footsteps of Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry.
Meanwhile, one wonders if American Idol voters are out to eliminate the female finalists. Pia is the fifth successive female contestant to be voted out. Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart are the only girls remaining in the competition.
