United for Peace of Pierce County, WA was practicing their First Amendment Rights on Friday at Tacoma's waterfront. One lone man stood on the side of Ruston Way and was glad to give me a nod of acceptance when I motioned him I wanted to take his picture.
Numerous signs propped up two sided on the trunks of a line of trees. Apparently the older gentleman was being strategic knowing traffic on Friday evenings is usually bumper to bumper at this time.
The signs read:
The first casualty of war is truth
What makes you think we can force democracy?
Support our troops, ask the questions they can't!
If you love our troops bring them home now!
Tax the rich
Silence implies approval SPEAK UP!
Military solution in Afghanistan? NOT!
Below each sign was: Learn more at: www.ufppc.org
Their site states: We non violently oppose the reliance on unilateral military action rather than cooperative diplomacy.
