A Fort Hood Soldier died from non-combat issues in Mosul, Iraq. Jorge Scatliff of St. Croix of the U.S. Virgin islands died. He was only 32 years of age. The unit that he was assigned to was the 27th Brigade Support Battalion.
Some have said that over 30,000 have been killed, and 90,000 injured in Iraq since 2003. Nobody can say for certain if that is U.S. Troops alone or coalition troop causalities as well. The source for this count said nobody will confirm or deny this latest figure.
Whether you are for against this war, these were real people who died serving their country and are due an amount of respect by all. In their memory I will dedicate Psalm 23 for them and all involved in it on both sides. "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."
