China Supplies Arms, Trucks to Darfur Against UN Embargo

The BBC has found evidence that China is currently aiding Sudan's government militarily in Darfur. The genocidal conflict, mainly between the Sudanese Military and affiliated Janjaweed militia groups and rebel groups such as the Sudanese Liberation Movement and the Justice Equality Movement, has been the source of what the UN estimates as over 300,000 deaths since 2003.

Chinese army trucks tracked by BBC trace back to both the Sudanese Military and several rebel groups. Additionally, evidence has been found suggesting that China is training fighter pilots to fly Chinese A5 Fantan jets in Darfur.

The UN embargo stipulates that no one is to offer assistance in Darfur, including military training and education, in this conflict, which has already caused the flight of over two million people. The Chinese Government refused to comment on BBC's findings and maintains that they comply with all UN embargoes.
